The conquest of Chile and the discursive crossroads between history and literature
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to revise the state of the historiographical discussion on the early sources of the History and Conquest of Chile. These early sources follow the pattern established by Ercilla in La Araucana, a work which conditioned a change in the valuation of that imaginary. This will provide an opportunity to verify in a circumscribed textual corpus the exchange of "services" between History and Literature as a recurrent phenomenon in the configuration of the origins of America.
