Abstract

For the most part, critical studies on the generation of Chilean poets of the 1960's do not include women 's writings or invoke socio-cultural references beyond those of the country itself. This essay is an attempt to broaden and to a lesser extent restate the concept of "Generation of the 1960's. " It seeks to indicate its possible (dis)continuities and transformations in such a way that different types of poetry (for example, women 's poetry) which usually remain marginalized when they are not completely ignored may be incorporated into the "oficial" canon of Chilean poetry of the 1960-s.
