To guarantee a high standard of quality, each unpublished text received is examined in the first instance by the Editorial Board of the journal. This process verifies that all proposals are adjusted to the focus and scope of the journal and that they adequately comply with the indications expressed in the Indications for Authors in the journal's Typographical Regulations and Anti-Plagiarism Policy.

The Editorial Board may reject those works that do not meet the minimum publication requirements (for not meeting the quality or objective of the journal) or suggest improvements to authors to make a second submission of their proposal.

Papers that pass the first review are submitted to specialized peer review ("double-blind" system) with a minimum of two specialists linked to the respective field of study.

The evaluators must adhere to the evaluation guidelines established by Teología y Vida and have a maximum period of 4 weeks to prepare and deliver their opinion. Once these reports are received, if they are favorable and recommend the publication of an article, they are sent to the author with the final resolution and comments of the Editorial Board.

For controversy, the relevant proposal is sent to a third evaluator or the Editorial Board will make a final resolution.

The editorial evaluation process can take, in total, between 3 and 6 months.

An article is considered accepted once the Editorial Board approves the second version sent from the author(s) after they have addressed the comments and suggestions of the evaluators by making any requested changes and within the period indicated.

Rejected contributions cannot be proposed again for evaluation. A possible complete and substantial revision, that is, an article distinct from the previously rejected one, can be submitted to the evaluation process. However, at the time of receipt, a new and complete evaluation process begins.

The Editorial Board accepts for evaluation only one manuscript per author at a time.

Once accepted, the maximum time between the acceptance of the article and its publication is one year, although this may be extended depending on Teología y Vida’s programming schedule. The dates of receipt and approval of each article may eventually appear at the beginning of the articles.
